A Taste of Elegance

Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons, Oxfordshire, England

Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons is the epitome of luxury. From time to time, I will post about places, experiences, and things that draw me in and capture my senses and are the essence of elegance, class, and sophistication. Some, I have experienced personally and others I have not. If that is the case, I will mention it, as I want to be as transparent as possible, However, it deserves a mention, so you can experience it for yourself.  One of them is Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire, England. I want to be straight-up front. I have not personally visited this historic manor house, which is now a luxury hotel and restaurant, but I have heard about it from others and I wanted to make mention of it on this blog.  It most definitely is a must for me when I am visiting England.

Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons

Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons drew my attention because as you get to know me, you will find that I love luxurious hotels and 5-star restaurants. I have stayed and eaten in many of them. I also love century-old manors and estates. Belmond is a 15th century manor. When you also get to know me better, you will find that I absolutely love, heart and soul, The English Countryside, where Belmond takes up residence. So, it therefore satisfies my tastes on every level.

From what I have been told, Belmond doesn’t disappoint. In addition to the hotel, the luxurious grounds, and  fine dining, they even have a cookery school and a gardening school on the premises.

The Hotel

The manor house has 32 designed hotel rooms and suites. The decor is lavish and stunning. The deluxe rooms and suites have marble bathrooms and courtyard and garden views. It has been said that luxurious and romantic are the two words that come to mind when you are in these rooms. There are soft, plush bed and bath linens, and  some rooms have private terraces, and wood-burning fireplaces. Some also offer over-sized showers and Victorian tubs. Belmond even offers in-room spa treatments and massages.

The Restaurant

A lavender-scented footpath takes you up to the 2-Michelin-starred restaurant at Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons. Apparently, they earned this upon opening and have kept this status ever since. What’s nice is that you can dine here, without an overnight stay. They offer three, five, and seven course lunch and dinners. I have taken a look at their menus and the food is to die for  and with a 2-Michelin rating, you know the food is good. Check out their menus here:  Belmond Dining Menus.

Dining here is elegant and world-class. It is one of Britain’s finest. Most of the produce served in the restaurant is organic, picked from their own orchards and gardens. They have a lovely video on their site where you can step into the restaurant. I just finished watching it and my mouth is watering. Check it out here.

The Raymond Blanc Cookery School and Gardening School

The cookery school at Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons, is on the premises and offers cooking courses from half-day to full residential cooking programs. They also offer packages that combine the courses with a hotel stay.

The gardening school also offers some amazing courses to choose from that allow you to go home and start your own vegetable gardens. Such courses as Micro Herbs and Edible Flowers. Grow Your Own Vegetables, All About Apples, are sure to please.

In a Class by Itself

Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons is in a class all by itself and I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to experience it for myself.
