My Writing Journey

Anyone who knows me knows that I have a passion for writing and reading. I have an extensive personal library. About six weeks ago, I decided to go back to the university and finish my MFA in Writing. I left the university in 2018 half-way through the MFA program. I had finished a Ph.D. a few years earlier and I was exhausted. As time passed, I regretted it. For those of you who are not familiar with MFA writing programs, they are very competitive and unlike other areas of study, you have to be a good writer just to be accepted into one of these programs. They only accept a small number of students, so the class size is very small.  So I was very fortunate that I was accepted initially into the program and that they took me back six weeks ago.

In the program, I am currently working on a novel called A Stone’s Throw Back in Time. It is a historical fiction novel that takes place in Colonial Williamsburg just prior to The American Revolutionary War. Here is a brief synopsis: Christina Alcott, a young historian attending a history symposium in Colonial Williamsburg stumbles upon a hag stone and is transported back to 18th century Williamsburg, prior to The American Revolutionary War. All she wants is to find the lost hag stone and return back to the 21st century. However, things get complicated when she falls in love with a dashing captain in the Virginia Regiment and crosses paths with a dangerous time traveler also in search of the stone, who is bent on changing history and determined to accomplish his mission at any cost.

So join me on this blog for a book in the making,  as I post about not only about my writingjourney, but Christina’s journey as well. Will she find the lost hag stone before the time traveler so she can return back to the 21st century or will she choose love and stay with the dashing captain in the 18th  century? Will the time traveler complete his mission of stopping George Washington from leading the Revolution and changing history forever? Exciting times are ahead and I hope you will join me in the fun.
